Keeper of the Flame – 1942 Spencer Tracy and Audrey Hepburn.
A timeless classic that is reminiscent of the political climate of today. Witness the commonality from yesteryear and the present in a shocking way. The more things change the more they stay the same folks.
The Day the Earth Stood Still – 1951 Original and 2008 Remake with Keanu Reeves.
Sci-fi and yet not. The incredibly believable story of how man is not alone in the universe and if we do not change our ways towards a peaceful and responsible society, our demise will be inevitably of our own doing.
Bad Day at Black Rock – 1955 Spencer Tracy, Lee Marvin and Ernest Borgnine.
An old block buster classic with super stars of the day. A look into the topic of racial hatred and the ends some people will go to, to control their environment of who they consider acceptable and those they consider vermin.
With Honors – 1994 Joe Pesci and Brendan Fraser.
A light heartened movie on the topic on the meaning of life and higher education. Touching upon the fact that life is seen differently depending on the lens of the observer and where you choose to look. The scene of the difference of political opinion from that of a professor and that of a bum is an extremely strong point that is made and one that still resonates with me to this day.
